Wisconsin is going smoke-free July 5, 2010
In 2010, Wisconsin will join more than half the country's population who are already covered by laws that make all bars and restaurants smoke-free, including our neighbors: Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. All businesses in all parts of the state must follow the same rules and regulations around smoking. Businesses are allowed to have outdoor areas for smokers. The law says that these designated smoking areas must be a "reasonable distance" from entrances. Click here to read more about outdoor smoking areas.
The new law covers many workplaces including:
- Bars and Taverns
- Restaurants
- Bowling Centers
In July 2010, we can all look forward to more beer gardens, outdoor dining, and clean, healthy air inside.
